 A Walk with Jesus is an opportunity for orientation and discovery members to reflect on their L’Arche experience in light of the teachings of Jesus. The Emmaus retreat is an invitation to integrate their spiritual journey with their lived experience in their L’Arche community.

 The criteria for participation in this retreat are:

.
an assistant who is an orientation or discovery member (or the equivalent for someone awaiting a membership process);
• a commitment to one’s faith journey;
• a commitment to share with others;
• a commitment to living the rhythm of the retreat; and
• supported and encouraged by the Community leader and the Community Council.

Human Resources Workshop 2012

This workshop is opened to all who are responsible for L’Arche Human Resources in Canada. Presenters will consist of colleagues from L’Arche as well as external consultants. Translation, in French and \ or in English, will be available for all sessions, as needed.

Journey of L'Arche 2012

Applications are now  open for the Journey of L’Arche Retreat, which will take place from April 23 (supper) to April 27 (breakfast)  in Montreal. This “non-traditional” retreat is designed for assistants in their first few years who would like to nourish their spirituality but who may or may not find that nourishment within the Christian church.

 The purpose of this Group is
• to support communities and regions in fulfilling the mission of L’Arche;
• to facilitate solidarity, unity and collaboration among communities and regions in L’Arche Canada; • to provide a place of mutual support for Regional Coordinators and the National Coordinators

This Group is the primary place for reporting to the National Coordinator and Vice National Coordinator how local communities are fulfilling the Membership Agreement.


La raison d'être du groupe est de :
• soutenir les communautés et les régions dans l'accomplissement de la mission de L'Arche;
• faciliter la solidarité, l'unité et la collaboration entre les communautés et les régions au sein de L'Arche Canada; 
• offrir un lieu de soutien mutuel pour les coordinateurs régionaux et les coordinateurs nationaux.

Ce groupe est le premier lieu où partager aux coordinateurs nationaux comment les communautés actualisent le Contrat d'appartenance.

The National Council is a new body that was approved at the General Assembly in November 2009. Given its composition, this group has the authority to determine the strategic orientation of L’Arche Canada by giving direction to the L’Arche Canada Board and the National Coordinators. 





Covenant Companions Retreat 2011
July 4th - 10th 2011
Villa St.Martin, Montreal

This retreat is a life-giving experience for all participants to deepen in their understanding and love of the fundamental spirituality of L’Arche. The opportunity and privilege of this retreat is to live our spirituality together, sharing as companions in “twos” as well as in small groups. At the end of the retreat, we will celebrate the desire to continue this journey in L’Arche, with Jesus and with our brothers and sisters.

The Covenant Companions Retreat will be held at the Villa St. Martin in Montreal, a very beautiful and peaceful location. The cost will be $600 per person. Silas Donham and Ed Johnson from L’Arche Cape Breton and Josée Lemieux and Sophie Poissonnier from L’Arche Beloeil will give the Word.

Annual Community Leaders Meeting

The annual Community Leaders Meeting will be held in May in Chateauguay, Quebec. It is the one opportunity where Joe Egan and I meet with you to share with you developments at the national and international levels and to hear from you as individuals and a group. The meeting will begin with a two day retreat led by Agathe Dupuis and Sue Mosteller, both long term members of L’Arche. The focus of this retreat is Our Mission.
