The video is of remarkable quality as it succeeds in capturing the essential of an assistant's daily life in L'Arche while bringing the core members in the spotlight.
As Isabelle, a core member welcomed in the Viim house, says about the experience of Lena, a young German assistant in L'Arche in Paris:
...it's not just for us... it's for her!
Note : The videoclip is in French but we believe that the images speak for themselves. It tells the story of Lena a young German assistant who came to L'Arche because she wanted to share life with people living with an intellectual disability, learn French and live a constructive and meaningful gap year before pursuing her studies in her country.
The video also shows the daily life of L'Arche from the perspective of Isabelle who has been living in L'Arche à Paris for 17 years. She explains her project to be more independant and live in an apartment.
Because of Lena's commitment and L'Arche professional accompaniement and formation for assistants, L'Arche comes across as a very secure and warm place for people living with ID to grow and develop their autonomy and, at the same time, very well integrated in the neighborhood's life. (Duration: 6 minutes).
